As Fil Pa resembles an elephant’s foot print, it is often referred to as “elephant’s foot”. This design is very predominant in Turkmen and Afghan carpets. Sometimes Fil Pa rugs are mistakenly referred as Bokhara rugs as it was originated from Turkoman Tekke. However, the contents of the gul vary over a period of centuries. As there is a story to tell in all ancient designs, Fil Pa pattern represent wisdom.
